Is it time to right-size?

Have you ever wondered what right-sizing was?

You’ve probably heard of downsizing. Well, right-sizing is a broader term that includes moves to a bigger home OR a smaller home, but ultimately the goal of right-sizing is to find the home that’s just right for your needs.

Think of Goldilocks and the three bears. We want you to have the home that’s JUSSST RIGHT!

When you are in a season of life where your home no longer fits, it might be time to right-size. This can go both ways, meaning you may need to move into a smaller home or possibly a bigger home. Most of the time, Right Sizers are families who have children who have recently gone out into the professional world and do not intend to live in their parents’ home anymore. Their departure leaves their parents with a multi-bedroom home, but the parents only use one or two of the bedrooms. Other right-sizers are looking for an easier way of life where they don’t have to deal with yard work and house maintenance. When you get older, you may not want to be bothered with as many household responsibilities. You may find yourself going from a single-family home to a condo or other attached property. Keep in mind, there are condo communities with detached residences. There are many ways to right-size. Lastly, some right-sizers may transition into multi-generational living. Mom or Dad may move in because of an increased need for care.
